Amisco Derek Swivel Stool
Featuring mostly right angles and straight lines, the Amisco Derek Swivel Stool looks quite simple in its design. Yet the same simplicity is what makes it appealing. The stool can be used in most kitchens or wine bars of contemporary design. This, apart from its design, is also because it is available in a long list of colors, seat finish, and variations in height.
The frame of the Derek is constructed from metal. It has a low back made of flat bars welded together in a rectangle. It has a horizontal rail close to the top both for aesthetic effect and functional support. Slightly curved, it follows the contours of your lower back making it comfortable to lean into.
The back is fastened to the seat frame, which supports a square cushioned seat. You have plenty of options as far as the upholstery is concerned. You can opt for bi-cast leathers, fabric, microfiber, or vinyl. Your choice of colors can actually be confusing. If you go for leather, you can have cherry, eggshell, or mud; for fabric, there is bronze, espresso, or wheat; for microfiber, you can choose champagne, lazuli, or onyx; and for vinyl, caramel, nutmeg, or Portobello are available. All these are among plenty of other colors.
For a stable stand, the four legs of the Derek Stool are angled outwards. Being made of sturdy square metal bars, they are strong on their own, but they are further strengthened by a metal ring connecting all four of them. This support doubles as a footrest so your feet won’t have to dangle uncomfortably while sitting on the stool.
In all places where the metal components are fastened with each other, they are welded in full length guaranteeing a solid and secure hold. All metal parts are powder coated with a non-toxic environmentally safe paint that is baked into the metal. This gives it superior adhesion thus providing excellent protection from rust or corrosion. Like the seat, there are many choices of colors for the metal –antique brass, black coral, sienna, snow, and several others.
The Amisco Derek Swivel Stool is available in three heights –counter height, with a seat height of 26.75 inches; bar height, 30.75 inches, and extra-tall height, 34.5 inches.
