Howard Miller 697-001 Niagara Bar Stool

Crafted to match transitional bars and furniture, the Howard Miller 697-001 Niagara Bar Stool features elaborate and sophisticated details in its design. Its construction from distressed hardwoods finished in dark cherry that exudes a subdued sheen along with the shiny black leatherette seat add to its classic aura.

The seat is a perfect circle that is padded with thick cushion assuring a comfortable seating. Metal support springs are embedded within the cushion to firm it up and prevent you from sinking into the chair. Propping the seat is the skirting, which has a groove for decor running its entire circumference. What appears to be another groove is actually a gap between the ring supporting the seat and a second ring to which the legs are attached. This design allows the seat to swivel making it easy to get on or off the stool without having to push it away from the bar.

The backrest is a ring, though slightly ovate. Inside is a splat which consists of an intricately carved wood representing a fan palm leaf. It stands on the curlicued midribs of two other smaller palm leaves that rise to flank it.

Armrests proceed horizontally from the round back and, after executing a few twist and turns of its own, ends in a rounded terminus. Each armrest is supported by posts rising, with the requisite twists and turns, from the seat skirting.

Standing on four legs that bulge outward as they make their way down to the floor, tapering and turning back inward somewhat, only to turn back out again as they near their destination, the Niagara bar stools classic pedigree is further reinforced. They end in round bun feet that look like garlic, with their individual cloves protruding from the main bulb.

A metal footrest finished in antique brass completes the classic look of the Howard Miller 697-001 Niagara Bar Stool.

Overall measurements of the bar stool are 46″ H x 27″ W x 26″ D. The seat is 30″ high and can carry a weight of up to 300 lbs.
