LumiSource Taffy Bar Stool
The design of the LumiSource Taffy Bar Stool spells contemporary elegance and flair. Even the materials out of which it is constructed are products of relatively recent technologies. The bar stool eschews the traditional wood and leather of earlier designs.
The squarish seat is made of plastic resin with a sparkled finish giving it a lustrous sheen. It is contoured to fit the lines of the human body thus making it a comfortable piece of furniture. The rear of the seat turns upward to a short back that does not quite make it to a real back rest. It only reaches up to the small of your back. For the seat, you have a choice of bold red, immaculate white, or elegant black.
The seat is supported by a single thick tube of chrome finish. The tube, in turn, is propped up by a round base that is also finished in chrome. A decorative ring conceals the point where the tube and the base are joined. Incorporated within the tube is a hydraulic lift that allows the seat to rise by as much as 9.5 inches from a height of 21.5 to 31 inches. Apart from the lift, the seat also swivels so you can easily get off it without jamming yourself into the kitchen or bar counter.
A U-shape chrome tube whose ends drop from the front corners of the resin seat catches your feet as they dangle from the stool. To protect its chrome surface, a black plastic material is wrapped around the area where your feet rest.
The seat is 15.5 inches wide and 17.5 inches deep. When the lift is fully extended, it has a height of 38 inches.
