LumiSource Viva Hydraulic Barstool

The barstool begins with an upright but short backrest. It gradually curves in a right angle to form the seat and, at the seat’s front edge, turns back on itself, this time at about 45°, only to make another opposite turn at the same angle extending straight to a point vertically aligned with the front edge of the seat. The backrest with seat now has a footrest. To protect the footrest, it is wrapped with metal finished in gleaming chrome.
The curvy seat with backrest and footrest is threaded with a study tubular stem that is also finished in chrome thus matching the footrest cover. At the top of the stem is a round plate firmly affixed to the bottom of the seat. It incorporates a swiveling mechanism allowing the stool to rotate a full 360°. Also included is a hydraulic pump system that is activated by a lever underneath the seat. With this, seat height can be adjusted anywhere between 29 and 39 inches, allowing its comfortable use by both you and your children. The seat measures 16 inches square providing enough room even for average- and above-average-sized adults.
The chrome stem terminates at the bottom end in a solid and stable square base, which, to match the footrest and the stem itself, is also finished in chrome. It is rather heavy but this is to assure its stability.
As for the finish of the backrest and seat, there are a several options. You can have the stool in black or chocolate brown leatherette. If you would rather have it in wood finish, you can choose between a light natural or dark wenge wood. A new option for 2011 is the clear acrylic version.
