Powell Jamestown 987-481 Landing Swivel Arm Bar Stool

When American Colonial craftsmen, drawing inspiration from Queen Anne and Chippendale furniture, design a bar stool, you get something like the Powell Jamestown 987-481 Landing Swivel Arm Bar Stool. It comes right out of the 17th and 18th centuries, making it the perfect furniture for a kitchen with traditional décor.
The colonial touch starts right at the top back rail which is carved into three waves or bows, with rounded corners. The back splat is pierced and carved with elaborate symmetrical designs. The chair is equipped with an armrest that has concave and convex curves, like a cyma molding. The back is tenoned into the round seat, classifying the bar stool as a Windsor chair. It is this design that allows the seat to swivel.
For your comfort, the seat is padded and upholstered with a Chenille fabric that is woven from 55% polyester and 45% cotton. It is colored beige, matching the lightly distressed deep cherry finish of the stool.
The Powell Jamestown bar stool stands on Cabriole front legs while those at the rear are Chippendale-inspired. The upper part of the front legs curve in a convex and are embellished with C scrolls, while the lower curve in a concave, ending in Queen Anne feet. The rear legs, on the other hand, are plain, although they taper and flare as they reach the floor.
A metal ring finished in antique brass is fastened to the feet and as serves as the footrest.
The Powell Jamestown 987-481 Landing Swivel Arm Bar Stool is crafted from solid hard wood, medium density fiberboard, metal, and fabric. It comes partly disassembled but putting them together is straightforward.
Dimensions of the bar stool are 21″ W x 19″ D x 47″ H. Seat height is 30 inches.
