The stool is made of cold rolled sheet metal. This means that the stool is strong and hard and, when properly treated, can last as long as granite or marble counters. Cold rolled metal tends to be susceptible to rust and corrosion. With the Tabouret Black Metal Counter Stools, however, this is checked by a durable powdercoat finish. Black powdered enamel is electrostatically applied to the stool and heat-treated to make it bond like a second skin to the metal. This effectively makes the stool rust resistant.
